Changing Lives Through Accountability & Opportunity
The Fulton County Accountability Court aims to break cycles, restore lives, and strengthen the Greater Atlanta community. Through structured supervision, treatment, drug testing and support, participants are given the tools they need to succeed, both inside and outside the courtroom.
Adult Drug Court (ATL Pathway)
This program serves individuals battling substance use disorders and provides a structured path to recovery through treatment, regular drug testing, and ongoing court supervision. The program emphasizes personal responsibility while offering support for lasting change.
Adult Drug Court (TLC Pathway)
This new and exciting program is designed to provide a structured path to recovery for 18 months and aimed at participants with a lower risk level. This means that the new pathway can meet participants' needs while minimizing the disruption to their employment schedule.
Behavioral Health Treatment Court (BHTC)
This program serves individuals charged with felony offenses who have significant mental health needs. Through intensive case management, treatment planning, and judicial oversight, participants are guided toward long-term recovery and accountability.
Misdemeanor Mental Health Court (MMC)
This program serves individuals charged with misdemeanor offenses who are experiencing mental health challenges. The program emphasizes accountability while addressing underlying mental health needs, with the goal of reducing repeat offenses, improving stability, and promoting long-term success for participants and the community.
Recovery Treatment Court (formerly known as DUI Court)
This program serves repeatedly impaired driving offenders by combining intensive supervision, treatment, and accountability measures. The program aims to improve public safety while helping participants make lasting behavioral changes.
Veterans Treatment Court
This program honors those who have served by addressing the unique challenges they may face, including trauma, substance use, and reintegration. Veteran participants are supported through mentorship, treatment services, and a team-based approach rooted in respect and accountability.
The mission of the Fulton County Accountability Court is to provide a court supervised alternative sentencing program to those citizens facing a felony level charge in Fulton County, and who suffer substance abuse and/or mental health issues. Furthermore, the court will reduce recidivism, crime occurrence, reduce the cost to the community, and improve the quality of life for those participating. The court is committed to returning participants to the community as model citizens.

Beginning in 1997, the Fulton County Accountability Court is a specialized, judge-supervised program offering nonviolent offenders with substance abuse or mental health issues an alternative to incarceration. This program emphasize rehabilitation over punishment, combining intensive treatment, judicial oversight, peer mentorship, drug testing and community supervision to reduce recidivism.
